Private Limited Company
The preferred structure for startups that plan to raise funds and scale.
One Person Company registration lets you run your business as a company on your own – limited liability, a separate legal identity and the credibility of a company, set up fully online.
A One Person Company (OPC) is a company with a single member, introduced by the Companies Act, 2013. It combines the control of a sole proprietorship with the limited liability and separate legal identity of a company. Your personal assets stay protected from business debts, and the business can enter contracts, own property and open bank accounts in its own name.
| Feature | One Person Company | Sole Proprietorship |
|---|---|---|
| Liability | Limited to capital invested | Unlimited – personal assets at risk |
| Legal identity | Separate from owner | Same as owner |
| Raising funds | Possible after conversion | Very limited |
| Compliance | Annual MCA filings and audit | Minimal |
